Wei Chen

Wei Chen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s in Piano Performance from Xi’an Conservatory of Music where she studied with Vladimir Zanin. She continued her studies and earned a second Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from NYU Steinhardt under the guidance of Eteri Andjaparidze. With additional studies in piano pedagogy, Ms Chen also taught group and private piano as a member of the Steinhardt adjunct faculty. An award winning pianist and linguist, Ms. Chen has also found success as the principal coach for the chorus of the Xi’an Concert Hall and chorus of the Shaanxi Opera house as well as in coordinating conferences for the Xi’an Concert Hall and Xi’an Conservatory of Music arranging seasonal concerts and music festivals with artists and arts organizations from around the world. As a music theorist and dedicated teacher, Prof. Chen is delighted to be a member of the NYU Shanghai faculty.
