Internationally renowned Bamboo Flute performer, teacher and composer, Jun Qian is  recognized as a First Class National Musician of  China. Currently Mr. Qian serves as soloist and principal flute of  the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, Vice President of the Shanghai Youth Literacy and Art Association, and the Shanghai Professional Musician’s Flute Committee.  As a young child, he was selected to play at the White House in Washington DC. as a member of the Shanghai Musical Ensemble. Shortly after, he was admitted to the Shanghai Music Conservatory where he earned Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance with Prof. XunFa Yu and a Master of Music in Composition.  As a soloist, performing has taken him to such prestigious venues as The Kennedy Center and Vienna Golden Hall. At home, he is regularly wecomed at the  annual Shanghai International Art Festival, the Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Concert Hall and Oriental Arts Center to name a few.  Recognized as one of the top ten musicians in Shanghai, he served as the Music Ambassador for 2010 Shanghai Expo and was awarded First Prize in the Shanghai Spring competition of  2009 and 2010, Star of the Year in 2007, and received the  Shamul Khan Government Award 2003 World Instrumental Competition. Still actively performing, Mr. Qian now shares his passion in the classroom working with schools in the Shanghai inspiring the next generation of musicians. Mr. Qian joind the faculty at NYU Shnaghai in 2017.
